The Investigation into Punjab Public Service Commission scandal has taken a twist as the Anti-Corruption Establishment brought PPSC interview committee into probe purview.
The success of candidates, who used unfair means to pass the written exams, prompted the ACE investigators to question PPSC interview committee.
Authorities have already arrested four accused of PPSC paper leak. As many as 103,487 candidates had applied for the competitive examination against the advertised posts. A couple of weeks ago, ACE Director General Gohar Nafees formed a three-member team to look into the reports about the paper leak. The spokesperson said that as per the ACE team’s investigation, Rs800,000 bribe was received by the suspects for the leaking of each question paper. The Lahore High Court Tuesday reserved the verdict on maintainability of a petition seeking an inquiry into a PPSC question paper leak.
The petitioner told the court that several examinations were conducted by the PPSC recently in which the question papers were leaked.
