Four children, including two siblings, suffered injuries from a high-tension electricity wire in North Karachi within the limits of the Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police station on Tuesday.

The tragic incident took place when the children were playing on the roof of a house located in Sector 5-C in North Karachi. Police and rescuers reached the property and transported the casualties to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.

The injured children were identified five-year-old Saira, her brother Sahil, and two of their neighbouring children, Rafia, 10, and Aman, 7. Police said that the victims were playing when they suffered injuries from the flames that erupted from a high-tension wire passing over their roof.

They said that apparently, the incident occurred when someone in the area tried to connect a ‘kunda’ to the wire.
