ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf PTI activist Aneela Jutt aka Neeli Pari roughed up comedian Tahir Anjum in front of Punjab Assembly, and the whole incident turned out to be publicity stunt.
Punjab police claimed that comedian Tahir Anjum, who is also Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activist, staged the incident for fake publicity.
The dispute, which allegedly involved Neeli Pari assaulting Anjum for criticizing PTI founder Imran Khan, was pre-arranged as investigators revealed that the two know each other and planned the disgraced act to become famous in their political surroundings.
Neeli Pari was held at Tahir Anjum’s home, where he claimed she came to make amends. Both parties also admitted to fake the confrontation.
In recent developments, Lahore court placed Neeli Pari on judicial remand, dismissing police’s request for a physical remand. The incident took place outside the Punjab Assembly, where PTI activists were holding a symbolic hunger strike in support of Imran Khan.
