Pizza Delight Tea House Among 50 Businesses Sealed In Lahore

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 50 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Monday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed seven buildings in New Garden Town, 20 in Gulshan-e-Ravi and Samanabad, and 23 in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include Pizza Delight, Tea House, Smart Cook, Huda Foundation, Future School System, Al-Harmain Islamic School, Iqra School, Fine Care Medical Store, a private bank, grocery stores, food points, workshops, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.

According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
