Quetta Mehfil Chai Paratha Among 62 Businesses Sealed In Lahore

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 62 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Wednesday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 15 buildings in Mustafa Town, 10 in Faisal Town, and 37 in Johar Town and on Khayaban-e-Jinnah and on PIA Road during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include Quetta Mehfil Chai Paratha, Siddiqui Boutique, Shooz Vooz, a beauty salon, a private clinic, private schools, a gym, grocery stores, food points, workshops, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.

According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
