LAHORE – The Punjab government has decided to take an action to reduce the prices of cooked food at hotels and restaurants across the province.

Report said the prices of burger, pizza, Karahi Goshat, daal fry and other food items would be decreased as inflation has eased in past several weeks.

Authorities will hold talks with association of the restaurants to ask them to revise down the prices of food items as flour, chicken and ghee prices have registered significant decline.

Earlier, the provincial government took action to reduce the prices of bakery items, including “double roti”.

The city district administration in Lahore has announced Rs50-60 decrease in double roti price, fixing the new price of large bread at Rs180.

The weekly inflation measured by the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), witnessed further decrease of 0.34 per cent for the combined consumption groups during the week ended on May 23, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) had reported on Friday.
