Peshawar experiences coldest day as mercury drops to 01°C

Peshawar experienced the coldest day of the winter season as the mercury dropped to 01°C on Wednesday.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening and night, as well as during the next two days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of the province on Wednesday evening and night, as well as during the next two days. Freezing weather is expected in the upper districts.

Moderate to dense fog will likely persist over Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan.

Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper districts. Fog prevailed in the lower districts.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province, where the mercury dropped 07°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Nathia Gali was recorded at -05°C, in Dir at -04°C, in Malam Jabba at -03°C, and in Abbotabad and Saidu Sharif at 0°C.

In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 01°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
