ISLAMABAD – Gold prices in Pakistan are once again making headlines, inching closer to the Rs4.60 Lac mark per tola amid a fresh Rs2,400 jump on Tuesday pushed precious metal to Rs459,736.
24Karat gold jumped to Rs459,736 per tola, extending its upward momentum after recording an Rs800 increase a day earlier. The jump was also reflected in the 10-gram gold rate, which advanced by Rs2,050 to Rs394,149.

The prices also varied according to gold purity. 22-karat gold was priced at Rs415,522 per tola and Rs356,251 per 10 grams, making it the most expensive among the listed categories. The rate for 21-karat gold stood at Rs396,638 per tola and Rs340,061 per 10 grams, while 20-karat gold was available at Rs377,848 per tola and Rs323,951 per 10 grams.
18-karat gold was priced at Rs339,975 per tola and Rs291,480 per 10 grams. Generally, gold with a higher karat value commands a higher price because it contains a greater proportion of pure gold.
The latest surge in local prices came amid gains in the international bullion market, where gold climbed $4,375.
The precious metal has now posted back-to-back gains in the domestic market, adding further pressure on buyers and investors as prices approach the Rs460,000-per-tola mark.
Meanwhile, silver also moved higher on Tuesday. Its price increased by Rs62 per tola, reaching Rs6,965, according to the latest market rates.
