LAHORE – LUMS witnessed a tragic incident when a 2nd-year student Ahmed Adnan was discovered unresponsive in his hostel room, leaving classmates in shock and police searching for answers behind his sudden death.
The student was found dead in the hostel of leading private university in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), triggering police inquiry as authorities await a postmortem report to determine the exact cause of death.
The deceased, identified as Ahmed Adnan, was resident of Kasur and was studying under the university’s National Outreach Programme (NOP). He had been residing in the university hostel during his academic session.
The university administration alerted authorities after the student was found unresponsive inside his hostel room. A police team from Defence B Police Station reached the campus, secured the area, and informed the victim’s family.
During initial investigation, officers found no visible signs of violence or external injuries on the body. Police said there was no immediate evidence suggesting foul play, though standard legal procedures were carried out to ensure a thorough investigation.
The body was shifted for a postmortem examination, with preliminary medical observations indicating that cardiac arrest may have been the cause of death. However, officials stressed that the final cause will only be confirmed after the complete autopsy report is received.
Police further stated that the deceased’s family did not seek legal proceedings in connection with the incident. Despite this, authorities completed all mandatory legal formalities, including the postmortem examination, in accordance with established procedures.
Investigators are now awaiting the final medical findings, which will provide a conclusive explanation of the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
