LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday lifted the provisional suspension imposed on batter Haider Ali and allowed him to resume competitive cricket.
In an official confirmation, the PCB stated that Haider Ali, along with several other Pakistani players, has been granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to participate in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Other players cleared to feature in the league include Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafe and Ihsanullah.
Haider Ali, who has represented Pakistan in 35 T20 Internationals and two ODIs, had been unable to participate in any cricket match since September after being cleared of a rape allegation in Manchester.
During Pakistan Shaheens’ tour of England, a British-Pakistani woman lodged a complaint with Manchester Police accusing him of sexual assault.
Following the allegations, the PCB suspended him pending the outcome of a full investigation.
However, on September 25, Manchester police dropped the case due to insufficient evidence, confirming that there was no basis to proceed to court.
Haider Ali is set to join his team in the BPL and resume his professional career after the authorities lifted the suspension.
