ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent missile and drone attacks in the United Arab Emirates and called for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement in the region.
In an official statement, the prime minister expressed full solidarity with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the Emirates, saying Pakistan stands firmly with the UAE in this difficult time.
“Pakistan stands strongly with the government and the Emirati brothers and sisters of the UAE,” he said, adding that continued respect for the ceasefire is essential for regional peace and stability.
The prime minister further stressed that all parties must ensure the ceasefire is maintained and respected, and urged that diplomatic space be provided for dialogue to achieve lasting peace in the region.
The statement comes after reports of missile and drone strikes targeting the UAE, which have further heightened tensions in the region.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, multiple projectiles, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones were launched toward Emirati territory. The ministry stated that the UAE reserves the right to respond to any aggression.
However, Iranian media and security sources have denied involvement in the attacks, stating that allegations linking Iran to the incident are incorrect and arguing that responsibility should be placed on the United States, which they claim is engaged in military adventurism in the region.
The situation has raised fresh concerns over regional stability, with international observers calling for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
