LAHORE – Pakistan’s junior squash players delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Junior Squash Championship 2025 in South Korea, beating the traditional rivals India and securing a total of seven medals across various categories.
The national team shone in the boys’ under-13 and under-15 finals, with both categories bringing home gold medals for Pakistan.
In the under-13 final, Pakistan’s Suhail Adnan outclassed India’s Ayaan Dhanuka in a thrilling contest. Suhail took the match with scores of 11-5, 11-2, 11-13, and 11-6, showcasing superior skill and resilience.
In the under-15 final, Nauman Khan of Pakistan dominated the court by beating the fellow countryman Ahmad Rayan Khalil in straight sets, 12-10, 11-6, and 11-2, to secure another gold medal for the nation.
In the girls’ under-13 category, Pakistan’s Mahnoor Ali put up a valiant fight but was narrowly defeated by China’s Yan Xiuwan in a five-set battle. The final scores were 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, and 12-10 in favor of the Chinese player.
Overall, Pakistan claimed two gold, two silver and one bronze medal in the main events.
Besides it, Pakistani players won two more titles in the plate division and brought the total medal tally to seven.
The strong showing by Pakistan’s young athletes is being hailed as a significant achievement for the country’s squash revival on the international stage.
