RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s top military leadership met in Rawalpindi for 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Asim Munir, to review the country’s security situation, ISPR said.
The Forum focused on counter-terrorism efforts and expressed serious concern over militant activity linked to Afghanistan, accusing the Afghan Taliban of providing safe havens to terrorist groups while rejecting allegations against Pakistan.
Corps Commanders’ reviewed internal and external security situation in detail and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to intensify counter-terrorism operations across the country. It also decided to maintain strong operational momentum to dismantle terrorist networks, destroy their support infrastructure, and deny them any space to operate.
A major focus of the meeting was the situation along the western border, where the Forum accused the Afghan Taliban administration of providing safe havens to militant groups. It stated that this policy disregards the interests of the Afghan people and is increasingly backfiring, further destabilizing the region.
CCC strongly rejected recent allegations from Afghan authorities accusing Pakistan of targeting civilians inside Afghanistan. It termed these claims as part of a coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at deflecting attention from internal failures and “playing the victim card.” Pakistan reaffirmed that its actions are defensive in nature and are strictly targeted against terrorists, infiltrators, and their support networks.
The meeting noted that terrorist groups and their infrastructure have been significantly weakened through ongoing operations, including Operation Ghazb lil Haq, which continues to target militant hideouts and support systems.
Miliutary brass also reviewed broader regional security environment, acknowledging that evolving geopolitical developments could impact stability. It stressed the importance of restraint and responsible behavior by all sides, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability based on sovereignty and mutual respect.
Conference marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing it as a symbol of national unity and resolve, reflecting strong coordination between the people, government, and armed forces under the concept of “Bunnianum Marsoos.”
