Pakistan announces four holidays for Eidul Fitr 2024

ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Wednesday announced four holidays on account of Eidul Fitr.

As per the announcement, Eidul Fitr holidays will be observed from April 10 (Friday) to April 13 (Monday).

All government and semi-government offices will remain closed during the Eid holidays.

Third Holiday April 12 (Friday)
Fourth Holiday April 13 (Saturday)

The Eid holidays were announced after consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Eidul Fitr is a significant festival in the Islamic calendar, celebrated at the end of the Holy month of Ramazan. Muslims all over the world observe a month of fasting, and Eid celebrations mark the end of this period of self-restraint.

This year, Eidul Fitr is likely to be on April 10, depending on the sighting of the cresent.

People are expected to enjoy five-day festivity as as Friday and Saturday are already designated as weekends in Pakistan, and employees will enjoy long weekend to celebrate the festive occasion.
