ISLAMABAD – Pakistan opened registrations for Hajj 2027, and thousands of aspiring pilgrims wasted no time in registering themselves for the sacred journey, showing growing confidence in the government’s tech-driven registration system.
In just three days, more than 80,000 people signed up through the country’s digital Hajj portal as the digital transformation of Hajj services received an overwhelming public response.
The online registration drive, powered by the National IT Board’s Hajj Management System, is continuing seamlessly, allowing applicants to complete the entire process from the comfort of their homes without any interruption.
Official statistics reveal that the registered applicants include 47,000 men and 33,000 women, reflecting strong participation from both genders. Among the preferred departure cities, Karachi emerged as the top choice, followed by Lahore in second place and Islamabad in third.
Majority of applicants falling between the ages of 25 and 50, showing growing interest among Pakistan’s younger and middle-aged population in performing Hajj.
Educational statistics speak of equally remarkable picture as registered pilgrims include 1,000 PhD holders, 17,000 Master’s degree holders, 21,000 Bachelor’s degree holders, and 12,000 individuals with FA or equivalent qualifications, underscoring the broad appeal of the digital registration system across diverse educational backgrounds.
The unprecedented response within the opening days of registration reflects increasing public confidence in Pakistan’s technology-driven Hajj management system, marking another milestone in the country’s efforts to modernize and streamline pilgrimage services.
