ISLAMABAD – Several government doctors regularly examine Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, while one of his eyes has almost returned to normal, a report submitted by the superintendent of Adiala Jail to the Supreme Court revealed on Monday.
The two-page report covers Khan’s health condition and meetings with visitors at the prison.
According to the report, Khan’s medical condition is monitored regularly. Medical officers check his food and water intake three times a day and conduct routine medical examinations. Several government doctors have also examined him, with records maintained by the jail authorities.
A summary of 39 medical check-ups conducted by various specialists between November 4, 2023, and August 10, 2026, was also submitted to the court.
The report said Khan had also been treated by an ophthalmologist for an eye-related condition and that one of his eyes had now become almost normal.
Regarding meetings, the report stated that Khan and his wife are allowed to meet every Tuesday in accordance with jail rules, and 84 such meetings have been held so far. Lawyer Salman Safdar also met Khan on February 10 and April 4, 2026.
The jail superintendent’s report further referred to an assurance given by lawyer Salman Akram Raja before the Islamabad High Court that no media interaction would be held inside the jail premises after meetings.
The report alleged that the undertaking was violated through media talks despite a court order. It also referred to an earlier ruling by an Islamabad High Court single bench that declared Rule 265 of the jail rules unlawful in the Sher Afzal case.
The report alleged that meetings at the jail had been used to incite public sentiment against the judiciary, foreign policy and law-enforcement agencies.
A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, is scheduled to hear the cases concerning Imran Khan’s health and meetings on Tuesday.
