The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the continued violations by extremists of the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by storming it through Bab al-Asbat for the first time since 1967, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, as part of attempts of Israel, the occupying power, to change the historical and legal status in Al-Aqsa Mosque. The OIC General Secretariat considers these continued violations as provocation to the feelings of all Muslims and a flagrant violation of relevant international resolutions.
H.E. the OIC Secretary-General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of the continuation of such daily Israeli attacks on the city of Al-Quds and its Muslim and Christian holy sites, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards putting an end to these Israeli violations that would fuel religious conflict, extremism and instability in the region.
