No US visa for fat persons, diabetes patients as new rules enforced

No Us Visa For Fat Persons Diabetes Patients As New Rules Enforced

WASHINGTON – The US State Department has issued a new directive to its embassies worldwide, stating that individuals suffering from obesity, diabetes, and mental health conditions will not be granted US visas.

According to the new policy, visa applications may be denied based on the applicant’s health condition, particularly if they are deemed to be a “public charge.”

The memo highlights that individuals with health issues such as diabetes, obesity, and other medical conditions could have their visas rejected under the “public charge” rule.

This rule is based on concerns about the applicant’s potential reliance on government resources due to their medical needs. Additionally, individuals suffering from conditions like cancer and heart disease are also expected to face difficulties in obtaining visas.

The Trump administration is concerned that such individuals may place a financial burden on the US government, as their medical treatments are often expensive. However, the policy also notes that if applicants can prove they are able to cover their medical expenses independently, their visa application could still be considered.

It is important to note that more than 100 million people in the US suffer from obesity, and over 38 million individuals are affected by diabetes.

This new policy is part of ongoing efforts to control immigration by limiting entry to those deemed less likely to rely on public assistance.
