New Traffic Management Center To Monitor Lahore Ring Road 24 7

LAHORE – The Punjab government has decided to set up an advanced Command and Control Center for efficient monitoring and management of traffic on the Lahore Ring Road.

The project was approved by Provincial Minister for Construction and Communications, Malik Suhaib Ahmed Bharth, who also chaired a meeting to discuss the initiative. The meeting was attended by Secretary of C&W Sohail Ashraf, Chairman of Punjab Ring Road Authority Faisal Fareed, and senior officials from various departments.

The meeting provided detailed briefings on both the technical and administrative aspects of the project. It was revealed that the Command and Control Center would be located at the headquarters of the Ring Road Authority and would cost an estimated Rs871 million. According to the provincial minister, the project is expected to be completed within four months.

The state-of-the-art center will feature the latest monitoring technology, including 42 large screens and 20 analytical screens. The advanced system will continuously monitor approximately 150,000 vehicles traveling daily on the Lahore Ring Road.

Under this project, traffic flow will not only be monitored, but violations such as overspeeding, lane discipline breaches, running red lights, and wrong-way driving will also be recorded. High-resolution cameras, Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, and advanced data analysis software will be employed for this purpose.

Malik Suhaib Ahmed Bharth emphasized that the establishment of the Command and Control Center would provide better and safer travel facilities for citizens while significantly reducing accidents.
