ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that citizens applying for their first-ever national identity card can now obtain it for free.
The initiative allows individuals to receive their first non-smart chip identity card at no cost, simply by visiting a NADRA center.
Citizens can get their cards within 15 days without any fees, provided this is their first application for an ID card.
This move has been widely praised by the public, with many calling for the facility to be made available through the “Pak ID” mobile app as well, to streamline the process.
Additionally, NADRA had previously announced hundreds of new job openings for the youth in Sindh.
Last week, the authority revealed plans to hire 200 Junior Executives (Data Entry Operators) in Karachi and nine other districts in Sindh. Candidates must have at least an intermediate level of education and be under 25 years of age. Interviews for these positions will begin on November 3.
Furthermore, NADRA has secured plots for new office locations in 11 districts of Sindh, including Mirpur Khas, Kotri, Matiari, and others, to expand its reach and improve services in the region.
