ISLAMABAD – The federal government is set to announce the revised petrol prices in Pakistan on Friday night (July 10) amid rising global oil rates due to rising tensions in the Middle East.

The new rates for petrol and diesel will come into effect from July 11 as Pakistan has adopted weekly review mechanism.

Global Oil Prices Today

Global oil prices moved higher on Thursday as renewed US military action against Iran heightened concerns over the conflict’s impact on energy supplies and the future of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global crude exports.

Brent crude gained 88 cents, or 1.13%, to trade at $78.90 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 83 cents, or 1.13%, to $74.35 per barrel.

The upward trend followed a stronger rally in late Wednesday trading, when both Brent and WTI added more than $1 after reports of fresh US military strikes in Iran increased worries over potential disruptions to oil flows and reduced expectations for a near-term easing of tensions.

Current Petrol, Diesel Prices in Pakistan

The price of Petrol (Super/Euro 5) in Pakistan stands at Rs297.53 per litre, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is priced at Rs309.50 per litre. High-Octane (Euro 5) is available at Rs340.00 per litre.

These prices are effective from 4 July 2026 when the government announced a slight decrease in rates.

What’s Expected in Upcoming Review

Despite fluctuations in international crude oil prices, petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to remain unchanged in the upcoming weekly review.

Market experts believed that recent movements in global oil prices have not been significant enough to warrant an immediate revision of domestic petroleum prices.
