ISLAMABAD – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has amended the Solar Regulations 2026, delegating approval authority for solar systems of up to 25 kilowatts (kW) to electricity distribution companies (Discos).
According to a notification issued by Nepra, consumers installing solar systems with a capacity of up to 25kW will no longer be required to obtain approval directly from the regulator.
Under the revised regulations, the relevant electricity distribution company has been authorized to grant approval for such solar installations.
The amendment transfers the approval process for eligible solar consumers from Nepra to the respective distribution companies in line with the updated Solar Regulations 2026.
Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan Today
Solar panel prices in Pakistan continue to fluctuate on a daily basis as changes in international markets, exchange rates and import duties affect local pricing.
According to the latest market update, prices for Tier-1 and other leading solar panel brands currently range between Rs43 and Rs45 per watt, depending on the manufacturer and specifications.
Among the higher-priced options, Jinko’s N-Type bifacial double-glass 590W panel and Canadian Solar’s TopCon bifacial double-glass 585W panel are listed at Rs45 per watt. Other models from Longi, Jinko and Canadian Solar are also available within the same price range.
Several brands, including Astro Energy, Trina, JA Solar, TW Solar and Risen, are priced at Rs44 per watt, while RENA Solar and Sunpro panels are available at Rs43 per watt.
Panel prices vary according to capacity and technology, with listed models ranging from 585W to 610W. Individual panel prices currently range from around Rs26,000 to more than Rs30,000.
