ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Saudi Arabia on Friday for a one-day visit, where he is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Turkey’s Director of Communications Burhanettin Duran said Erdogan would hold meetings with the Saudi crown prince and the Pakistani prime minister during his visit.
Although the Turkish government has not disclosed details of the meeting agenda, the talks are expected to focus on bilateral relations, regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has already reached Saudi Arabia following an invitation from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Pakistani prime minister was warmly received upon arrival in Jeddah by Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq and senior diplomatic officials.
During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting is expected to cover Pakistan-Saudi Arabia’s longstanding brotherly relations, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and partnership, regional developments and other matters of mutual interest.
