In response to widespread failures in the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) exams, NED University of Engineering and Technology has altered its admission criteria for the year 2024. A significant number of students faced failure in the intermediate examinations, prompting a surge in scrutiny form submissions at the BIEK. Upon investigation, a committee formed by the former caretaker Sindh government uncovered irregularities in the examinations, particularly in English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics results, deeming them ‘tampered’.
As a consequence, eight officers from the Karachi intermediate board have been held accountable for the misconduct.
