ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Finance has increased the profit rates on several national savings schemes, according to a notification issued in this regard.
The revised rates include increases for Defence Savings Certificates, Behbood and Pension Certificates, Regular Income Certificates, Special Savings Certificates and Sarwa Islamic Term Accounts.
Defence Savings Certificate Rate Increased
The profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates has been increased by 19 basis points, taking the new rate to 11.80 percent.
Meanwhile, the profit rate on Behbood and Pension Certificates has been raised by 12 basis points to 12.72 percent.
Regular and Special Savings Certificates
The profit rate for Regular Income Certificates has been increased by 60 basis points. The revised rate now stands at 11.76 percent.
The rate for Special Savings Certificates has also been increased by up to 74 basis points, taking the profit rate to 11.82 percent.
Sarwa Islamic Term Account Rates Revised
The notification also announced higher profit rates for Sarwa Islamic Term Accounts.
The profit rate for the three-year plan has been increased by 41 basis points to 11.57 percent.
For the five-year plan, the profit rate has been raised by 54 basis points, with the new rate set at 11.70 percent.
