Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), reaffirmed the party’s long-standing tradition of valuing its grassroots workers. Speaking at the Election Commission during the scrutiny of PPP candidates’ nomination papers, Shah highlighted the party’s dedication to its workers, citing President Asif Ali Zardari’s compassionate approach. Nasir Hussain Shah also announced Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani as the PPP’s candidate for Chairman of the Senate, underscoring the party’s confidence in Gilani’s leadership. Furthermore, Shah outlined the PPP’s ongoing initiatives to address energy challenges in Sindh, particularly in areas lacking electricity.

He revealed plans to introduce solar energy systems for homes without access to conventional power sources, aiming to provide relief to around five hundred thousand households. Regarding energy policy, Nasir Shah advocated for increasing the capacity of solar parks beyond the current fifty megawatts limit, proposing a significant expansion to facilitate the transition to renewable energy. Shah criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s handling of international agreements, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing public interests over personal agendas. He underscored the historic nature of the PTI’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), highlighting the PPP’s commitment to upholding public welfare above all else.
