ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has shared a public awareness message urging citizens to ensure the timely and accurate registration of children’s births in their families at their respective Union Councils.
According to federal and provincial laws in Pakistan, only close blood relatives of the child — who hold a valid CNIC — are authorized to register the birth in the Union Council.
These relatives include:
Parents (Mother/Father)
Siblings (Brother/Sister)
Grandparents (Maternal and Paternal)
Uncles and Aunts (Chacha, Taya, Phupha, Mamoo, Khala)
NADRA emphasized that proper birth registration is a legal responsibility and vital for issuing official documents such as the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as the “B-Form.”

Once the birth is registered at the Union Council and computerized records are updated, parents or guardians can visit NADRA offices to obtain the child’s B-Form.
