ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important warning to Pakistanis living abroad, particularly in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), about fraudulent services related to identity documents.
Certain scammers have been deceiving unsuspecting individuals by posing as authorized NADRA agents, claiming to offer services related to the issuance and renewal of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and other identification documents.
These scammers charge between 300 to 500 AED for their services and, in the process, collect sensitive personal data.
NADRA strongly cautions overseas Pakistanis to be aware of these fraudulent practices. To protect their personal information and avoid falling victim to scams, NADRA recommends the following steps:
Only use the official Pak ID mobile app for services like obtaining or renewing NICOP or other identity documents.
Visit the official Pakistani consulates in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for any identity-related services.
When visiting Pakistan, make sure to approach NADRA offices directly for identity document-related services.
If any individual encounters fraudulent activities, they are urged to report them through the NADRA complaints portal at [complaints.nadra.gov.pk](https://complaints.nadra.gov.pk).
NICOP Renewal Fee for Pakistanis in UAE
Details available on official website of consulate general shows the normal fee for NICOP renewal stands at AED 75 while it is AED 110 for urgent category and AED 150 for executive category.
