NAB confirms closure of corruption probe against British-Pakistani businessman

The anti-corruption watchdog, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has confirmed that it has closed investigations into allegations of corruption and corrupt practices against British-Pakistani businessman Nisar Ahmed Afzal, his brother Saghir Ahmed Afzal and others.

Upon the final investigation report and recommendations from the Executive Board Meeting of NAB, (EBM-NAB) the Director General of NAB Rawalpindi has sanctioned closure of the investigation, according to a notification issued by NAB’s Islamabad headquarters.

“Based on the findings in the final investigation report and the recommendations made during the Executive Board meeting on 14-11-2023, the competent authority has sanctioned the closure of the investigation. The decision has been made to refer the matter to the FIA,” announced the NAB, adding the decision is being made public with approval of Director General NAB Rawalpindi.
