Na 130 Elections Et Upholds Nawaz Sharifs Victory Dismisses Yasmin Rashids Plea

LAHORE -The Election Tribunal has upheld the victory of former three-time Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif from NA-130 Lahore, dismissing a petition challenging the results.

The tribunal rejected the petition filed by Dr. Yasmin Rashid against Nawaz Sharif and declared the notification of his win from NA-130 Lahore as valid.

The verdict reinforced Nawaz Sharif’s position as winner in NA-130.

Barrister Asadullah Chattha represented Nawaz Sharif during the proceedings, while Judge Rana Zahid Mahmood delivered the verdict, rejecting Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s challenge.

In the February 2024 general elections, Nawaz Sharif won the NA-130 Lahore seat by securing 171,024 votes, while independent candidate Dr. Yasmin Rashid received 115,043 votes. Dr. Rashid had filed the petition to contest Sharif’s victory, but the tribunal’s ruling now confirms the former Prime Minister’s triumph.
