Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his two-day visit to Turkiye encouraged the Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan especially in its ten thousand megawatts solar energy project.

While addressing Pakistan-Turkiye Business Council on Saturday, his words of ‘my investor is my master’ were also meant to describe how much importance his government gives to investors and is ready to extend maximum facilitation to them.

Indeed nobody can deny the importance of investors, as they are the ones who generate and pour in their capital for new ventures, which not only drives jobs and innovation but also trade.

Hence it is really important to lure investors to come to Pakistan by removing bottlenecks in their way as investments in any sector either energy, agriculture, industries or IT is the only way through which we can change the economic landscape of the country and help address its longstanding economic issues especially that of current account deficit.

It is really a matter of satisfaction that PM Shehbaz Sharif is treading the right track. After his successful visit to China, we believe his very visit to Turkiye with whom we have strong bonds will also accrue dividends in the form of more investment especially in the renewable.

In fact this ten thousand megawatts of solar power project is of immense importance for the country to reduce its reliance on the expensive imported fuel, which eats away our precious foreign exchange reserves, and then our government has to knock at every door ranging from international lenders to friendly countries to come out of balance of payment crisis.

We are confident that assurances extended to Turkish companies of good returns in the solar project will definitely attract them to Pakistan.

There is a great goodwill between peoples of both the countries. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly shown his special affection and love for Pakistan.

Time has come to transform this relationship into a strong and mutually benefited economic partnership.

To achieve this, both the sides need to enhance their engagements at different levels to reach a comprehensive roadmap in this regard.
