Phalia Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Irfan Safdar sentenced a man to death in a murder case and exonerated the co-accused, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
The court also ordered the convict Muhammad Irfan to Rs0.5 million to the bereaved family as compensation. Upon failure to the fine, the convict will have to undergo further six months vigorous imprisonment. The court also acquitted co-accused Faisal Imran, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
According to police, Irfan had shot dead Muhammad Qasim, son of Muhammad Abbas Irshad a resident of Mekan area over some petty dispute. The incident took place half and year back in the limits of Phalia Mekan police. The main accused Irfan is lodged in District Jail Mandi Bahauddin.
