LAHORE – Authorities have announced that cash recharge services for M-Tag, which is used for paying toll tax on motorways across Pakistan, will officially be discontinued on June 30, 2026.

One Network, which manages the M-Tag related services, shared the development on Facebook.

After the deadline, it said users will no longer be able to top up their M-Tag accounts through cash payments at booths.

How to Recharge M-Tag

The commuters are being encouraged to switch to digital recharge methods such as Jazzcash and banking apps, to avoid inconvenience and long queues.

The move is aimed at promoting digital transactions and streamlining the payment system for motorway users.

Authorities have advised motorists to transition to online and mobile-based recharge options ahead of the deadline to ensure uninterrupted travel and toll payments.

M-Tag Sticker Fee

Earlier, authorities asked the motorway users to replace their old M-Tags for vehicles before May 31, 2026 to avoid additional replacement charges.

The replacement process was offered free of charge for tags that are more than five years old.

According to the notice, motorists using outdated M-Tags must switch to the latest “One Country One Tag” system to continue smooth travel on motorways.

The announcement also warned users about increasing replacement charges after the deadline.

Starting June 1, motorists who fail to replace their M-Tags within the free window are now required to pay a replacement fee of Rs150.

From July 1, old M-Tags will reportedly be blocked completely, while the replacement fee will rise to Rs300.
