Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram presented a check of Rs 40 lacs to the family of Late Dr Naseem Bano. Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Dr. Mehmood Ayaz, Professor Dr. Asghar Naqi, MS Lady Wellington Hospital Dr. Saeed Khan and Dr. Salman Kazmi were present. Later, the caretaker provincial health minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram in his address at the press conference said that by the grace of Allah, we have been able to give a relief check of Rs 40 lacs to the family of Late Dr Naseem Bano. For the first time in the history of the medical department, financial assistance has been given to the family of a trainee doctor after she died on duty. Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan for making best efforts in the case of deceased trainee Dr. Naseem Bano. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz and all related officers are extremely grateful. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram said that martyrdom during duty is a great honor for a doctor. The account will be transferred. He said that doctors in Punjab will always be in the forefront for the betterment of the community.
Vice-Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayaz said that there is no example in history of giving a relief check of Rs. 24 lacs to the family of late Dr. Naseem Bano. The transfer of the relief check amount will be done through an online transaction to the account of the deceased’s mother. Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz said that Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan and university employees have played an important and fundamental role in giving relief package to the family of late Dr. Naseem Bano.
