MBBS Admission to quota seats in Punjab medical, dental colleges; [Check process, date, eligibility criteria]

LAHORE – The Punjab government on Tuesday announced that applications for admission to quota seats in the province’s medical and dental colleges will open on December 1.

These applications will be accepted through the University of Health Sciences (UHS) online portal, marking a significant step in streamlining the admissions process.

In a major change, this year will see candidates from other provinces being allowed to apply directly for these quota seats, a first for the province. According to the new admission policy, approved by the provincial cabinet, admissions will no longer be based on nominations but will follow a direct application process.

Breakdown of reserved seats:

Islamabad: 26 MBBS seats and 4 BDS seats.

Azad Jammu & Kashmir: 36 MBBS seats and 3 BDS seats.

Gilgit-Baltistan: 55 MBBS seats and 5 BDS seats.

Balochistan (Goodwill Category): 20 MBBS seats.

Former FATA: 21 MBBS seats and 6 BDS seats.

Balochistan (HEC Scholarship Category): 28 MBBS seats and 10 BDS seats.

Former FATA (HEC Scholarship Category): 28 MBBS seats and 10 BDS seats.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a domicile of the relevant province or region and must meet the minimum eligibility requirements set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for MBBS or BDS programs.

Application Process:

The deadline for submitting applications is December 15.

To assist applicants, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has set up a special desk. Deputy Registrar for Public Affairs Yasir Sultan will lead the help desk and provide support to candidates throughout the application process.
