LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced another plan to financially empower youth in the province by providing big loans without any interest.
She had revealed the plan while inaugurating the second phase of Honhar Scholarhsip Programme earlier this month. Addressing the ceremony, she said interest-free loan of up to Rs3 crore of Rs30 million will be provided to young people, who are interested in starting their own business.
She said the initiative will not only make them financially independent but also help creating employment in the province.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif all resident of Punjab will be able to get benefit from the scheme in order to begin their own business.
Punjab Youth Loan Scheme Launch Date
Initially, the chief minister has just announced the plan to provide loan of up to Rs3 crore to youth for starting their business. The provincial government is yet to announce the launching date for the initiative.
Who is Eligible for Loan Scheme?
As per currently available information, young people, who are residents of Punjab, will be able to apply for the loan scheme. The government has not revealed the complete criteria for eligibility so far.
Honhar Scholarship Second Phase
On December 23, the Punjab chief minister inaugurated phase-II of Pakistan’s largest educational initiative, the ‘Honhaar Scholarship Programme’.
It will cover expenses of 30,000 students annually and 120,000 students over the next four years, as per the government.
