CHINIOT – A man allegedly killed three children after murdering his wife in Chiniot district, the local police said on Saturday.
The bodies of three children have been recovered from fields in Chiniot, prompting Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim to take notice of the incident and order the immediate arrest of the suspected perpetrator.
The police said that the bodies were found in fields in Chak 126-JB, which falls within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, Chiniot.
Taking notice of the incident, the Punjab police chief sought a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad and directed Chiniot District Police Officer Dr Naveed Atif to investigate the case from all angles.
The IGP instructed police to use all available resources to arrest the suspect involved in the killing of the children and bring him to justice.
Following the discovery, DPO Dr Naveed Atif, senior police officers and forensic teams reached the scene and collected evidence as part of the investigation.
According to the initial report, a man identified as Shah Nawaz allegedly killed his wife on August 30, 2026, before disappearing along with the children. A case had already been registered at Sadar Police Station in connection with the incident.
Police officials said raids were being conducted at different locations to trace and arrest the suspect.
DPO Naveed Atif said police teams were actively pursuing the suspect and expressed confidence that he would be arrested soon.
The police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the three children and establish the full sequence of events.
The police are investigating the matter to being the real culprit to bring the culprit to justice.
