Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in northern parts during the next twenty-four hours
Dense fog/smog is likely to persist in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Cloudy weather with rain (snow over hills) is expected in most parts of Balochistan and isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan. Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad and Muzaffarabad four degree centigrade, Lahore and Quetta six, Karachi fourteen, Gilgit and Murree one degree centigrade. According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy and very cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, while, cold and dense fog in Jammu.

Temperature recorded this morning: Srinagar, Pulwama minus two degree centigrade, Anantnag and Shopian minus-one, Jammu seven, Leh minus-eleven and Baramulla zero degree centigrade.

Meanwhile like other parts of the country, the foggy conditions with cold waves continued in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar remained covered in fog while the mercury level dropped to 5C in the provincial capital with zero visibility in the morning.

Owing to dense fog the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) temporarily closed M1 Motorway from Peshawar to Rashakai and Burhan Interchange and Swat Express Motorway.

Due to fog/smog in the city, the district administration issued instructions to the citizens urging them to restrict their movement in vehicles and if necessary use fog lights and keep headlights low.—INP
