KARACHI – Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has spoken out over the murder case involving young Karachi businessman Mir Raza, expressing support for his lawyer, rights activist Jibran Nasir.
Several clips of Nasir’s statements regarding the case have recently circulated on social media. Commenting on one of his statements, Mahira Khan praised the lawyer for his efforts in seeking justice for Raza.
“You are doing an excellent job, Jibran Nasir. We will all take to the streets against this injustice,” the actress wrote in a social media comment.
She added, “This nonsense must end now.”
The development comes amid continuing investigations into Raza’s death. According to an initial medical report prepared after his exhumation on Saturday, Raza had allegedly sustained a gunshot wound from behind, while signs of physical violence were also found on his body.
The report also indicated evidence of fractures to his right thigh and jaw, while blood stains were reportedly found on tissues in the lower part of his body.
During the investigation, forensic examination of a shirt sent to the laboratory reportedly revealed evidence suggesting that acid had been thrown on Raza’s hands and face.
The investigators suspect the alleged acid attack may have been intended to disfigure him and prevent his identification.
Nasir has also said that Raza’s family did not agree to the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the case.
The investigation remains underway, with the authorities examining medical and forensic evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding Raza’s death and establish responsibility.
