ISLAMABAD – Police in capital city of Islamabad has announced closure of several roads as traffic plan for the 26 Safar or Chehlum procession scheduled for August 10, 2026.
The procession will begin from House No 510 in I-10/1 and proceed via the CDA Double Road. It will pass through Street 70 and House No. 2305 on Double Road before concluding at Imam Bargah Musa Kazim.
Islamabad Traffic Update Today
Islamabad Police said the service road from Habib Tarpaal in I-10/1 to the CDA Naka will be closed. The I-10/1 Double Road section between CDA Chowk and I-10 Markaz will also remain closed.
Traffic restrictions will also be imposed on the I-10/4 service road from the CDA Naka, while CDA Road Chowk will be closed during the procession.
Citizens have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid congestion. The I-10/1 service road can be used as an alternative, while motorists can also travel through the I-10/1 service road and Street 23 in I-10/4.
For commuters in I-10/4, the service road towards Sui Gas Chowk has been suggested as another option. Motorists may also use IJP Road.
Citizens have been requested to follow the designated alternative routes during the procession. For the latest traffic updates, residents have been advised to follow Islamabad Traffic Police’s social media pages or tune in to FM 92.4.
