LWMC BoD okay steps for clean Lahore

The 112th Board of Directors (BoD) meeting of the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) was held at LWMC head office to review and approve certain agendas.

Secretary LG&CD Noorul Amin Mengal, Mrs Zahida Rafique followed by the other officials attended the meeting.

The LWMC CEO briefed all the members on important issues Of LWMC. Agenda of additional machinery for primary & secondary collection was appraised and approved in the meeting.

LWMC will place more than 6000 new containers in the city on urgent basis. Moreover, LWMC member board of directors emphasized on effective and efficient service delivery to the citizens of Lahore by deploying complete resources.

Additional machinery including 57 dumpers, 28 excavators, 66 trolleys and 17 loaders will be deployed from Monday.

All the decisions have been made in the best interest of public and by following the PPRA Rules.

Board decided to form a vigilance team comprised of 20-25 members to prevent any kind of corruption and theft.

Vigilance team will work to highlight any corruption or theft within the organization.

New uniforms, shoes jackets and personal protective equipment for workers shall also be procured on urgent basis.

It is further decided that transfer stations set up in the city should be vacated in time and should also be covered.

Old and damaged vehicles will be auctioned off and new ones will be purchased to maintain the effective cleanliness arrangements in the city.

The LG&CD Secretary concluded the meeting by sharing the provision of applying sticks and carrot method for all the officers and staff of LWMC.

Furthermore, LWMC held a press conference at shadman market.

The CEO LWMC briefed about all the decisions taken in the 112 th meeting of Board of Directors.

He said that with the help of additional machinery Lahore will be zero waste within a week. Citizens would not be disappointed and best possible cleanliness arrangements will be made in the city.
