LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has scheduled the post-arrest bail petition of popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, for hearing for Monday (today).
Justice Farooq Haider will take up the petition today. The case pertains to the alleged promotion of a gambling application.
In his plea, Saad ur Rehman stated that he was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at the airport while attempting to travel abroad. He argued that the NCCIA had never issued any prior notice or summons before his arrest.
The petition also mentioned that the YouTuber remained in NCCIA custody on a 10-day physical remand following his detention.
Earlier,Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) busted a massive corruption and bribery network within the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), arresting six senior officials for allegedly accepting Rs 9 million to protect YouTube star Saad Ur Rehman, aka Ducky Bhai, and his wife from legal trouble.
The accused include top NCCIA officers Sarfaraz Chaudhry, Zawar Ahmed, Shoaib Riaz, Mujtaba Zafar, Muhammad Usman, and Ayaz Khan, along with two sub-inspectors and a civilian acting as a frontman. Investigators claim the network misused their powers to collect bribes from cybercrime and online fraud cases, pocketing millions in the process.
Federal Investigators alleges that Shoaib Riaz personally transferred over $326,000 from Ducky Bhai’s account via Binance to his own, while coordinating with frontmen and lawyers to take Rs 9 million from the YouTuber’s family. Parts of the bribe were reportedly kept with other top officials, exposing a deep-rooted web of corruption inside NCCIA.
Ducky Bhai, who amassed millions of fans on social media, remained in custody for months for promoting illegal gambling apps, encouraging ordinary Pakistanis to invest and lose their savings. The FIA’s challan revealed he earned crores of rupees, with Rs 21 million recovered from his accounts.
