The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of the intra-court appeal of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) against the LHC’s single-bench verdict for the notification of the PTI members on the reserved seats of Punjab Assembly till September 19 next after the court vacations.
The court directed the lawyer for Hamza Shehbaz to amend the petition. “You should challenge the election commission’s notification of the PTI women’s appointments,” the court instructed the lawyer for Hamza Shehbaz. A two-member bench comprising Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir heard the appeal of the PML-N.
PTI’s lawyer Ali Zafar Advocate requested the court to adjourn the hearing. “The two-member bench has issued a unilateral order over non-appearance,” said Ali Zafar Advocate.
“I have no objection to
reopening the case,” said Mansoor Usman Awan, the lawyer for Hamza Shehbaz.
“The case is brought before you for hearing for the first time.
Time should be given for preparation,” said Ali Zafar Advocate.
