A delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, on Tuesday visited ‘Panahgah’ Centre in Sector G-9/4, Islamabad.
On the occasion, Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar welcomed and gave a detailed briefing to the ICC&I team about the initiative.
Khokhar said the project encompassed the most vulnerable community of the country including daily wagers, laborers, passengers, and attendants with the patients.
He told that at present twenty-two such centres were operational across the country, whereas, on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the expansion plan of this project was also being implemented on fast track.
Malik Zaheer Abbas also highlighted the effective policy to uniform the facilities in all the Panahgahs including stringent measures taken to ensure the quality and hygienic meals in centres.
President ICC & I, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, while appreciating the facilities provided to the deserving persons, expressed his willingness to work jointly with PBM.
The shelter home project is unique in the sense it gives two-time meal and shelter to the daily wage labourers, passengers, patients, the poor and the needy.
