Says appeal withdrawal from SC nothing to do with Shehbaz case

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday said that the PTI government believes in empowering institutions to bring about public development in a true sense.
“LDA was hostage to the corrupt mafia in the past which badly ruined this important institution.”
Addressing a press conference at LDA Sports Complex along with Provincial Minister for Housing Mehmood ur Rasheed and Vice-Chairman LDA SM Imran, Dr Firdous said the LDA remained victim to continuous loot and plunder instead of providing services to the citizens.
The Sharif family and its cronies made every effort to make hay while the sun shined at the Jati Umra.
The credit goes to Minister for Housing Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed and Vice-Chairman LDA SM Imran for challenging the mafia and liberated it from the corrupt, she said.
During the past decade of corruption, the agents of the Sharif family fully enjoyed the royal patronage for corruption but the PTI government has put an end to this corrupt practice because overcoming corruption is the main agenda of the PTI government, she said.
The Special Assistant said the vision of PM Imran Khan and CM Usman Buzdar about the strengthening of institutions is fully visible in LDA where the corrupt have been destroyed through the power of law.
No one will dare to indulge in any corrupt practice now as all doors of corruption are closed and the system has been improved through the legislation, she said.
To a question, Dr Firdous said the application withdrawn from the Supreme Court has no connection with the Shehbaz Sharif case.
The PML-M & S has been eliminated. The government is fully committed to overcoming corruption and ensuring the rule of law, she said.
To another question, she said the PML-N lawyers have assured the court that they will avoid any contempt of court. The court has remarked that the Shehbaz Sharif case will not become an example for any other case.
Upon it, our lawyers have retrieved their application. The government wants early disposal of the case to bring the thieves to justice.
Dr Firdous said that our application has no connection with this case. It is wrong to assume that the government is conniving with them.
What connivance can be made with those who cannot unite? Similarly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has become a thing of the past and nobody is giving any attention to him.
The government wants to liberate the institutions by empowering them to facilitate the people.
