LAHORE – Cold and dry weather will likely persist in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Smog/fog will continue to prevail in Lahore and other plains due to prolonged dryness and stable atmospheric conditions.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over the extreme northern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather will likely persist in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Tuesday night and the next two days. Frost will prevail in the Potohar region during the morning hours.
Smog/fog will likely persist in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu and Bahawalpur. In the coming days, smog/fog intensity will continue to increase due to a lack of rain and stable atmospheric conditions.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Wednesday and Thursday and between 07°C and 09°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Smog/fog prevailed over plain areas.
Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 01°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 per cent.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 55 per cent.
