LAHORE – Smog will continue to prevail in Lahore and the plains of Punjab on Thursday night and the next two days due to persistent dryness and stable atmospheric conditions.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, dry weather is likely in Lahore and most districts of the province on Thursday night and the next two days. Cold weather is likely in Murree, Galiyat and the surroundings.
Smog will likely persist in Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan. Experts have advised citizens to take precautionary measures to save themselves from smog-related hazards. Extra care has been advised for the children, elderly people and those with a history of respiratory problems.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 17°C and 19°C on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Cold weather prevailed in Murree and Galyat. Smog persisted in Lahore and the eastern districts of Punjab.
Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 08°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 18°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 86 per cent.
