Lahore, Punjab weather: Rains, gusty winds likely

LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents penetrate the upper and central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over the upper and western part of the country.

Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are likely at isolated places of Murree, Galiyat Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Tunsa, Layyah, Bahawalpur and Sahiwal on Tuesday night and the next two days with occasional gaps. Isolated heavy rains and hailstorms are also likely during the period.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Wednesday and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, rains and gusty winds occurred in Pothohar region.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. The maximum temperature in Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sargodha was recorded at 42°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 29 per cent.
