ISLAMABAD – Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chief Mufti Khabir Azad announced no moon sighting witnesses were reported across Pakistan. and that Eid ul Adha 2025 will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Mufti Khabir Azad further confirmed that the last Islamic month, ZilHajj, will start on Thursday, June 29. The announcement comes as many Muslims eagerly awaited official confirmation for the date of Eid.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee urged the public to follow the announced dates and continue observing religious practices with devotion.

Eid ul Azha 2025

Saudi Supreme Court has asked Muslims across the Kingdom to sight the crescent moon on Tuesday, May 27, to mark the beginning of the lunar month Dhul Hijjah. Those who see the moon are urged to report to their nearest court to register their testimony.

The moon sighting will help confirm important dates, including the start of the Hajj pilgrimage, expected from June 4 to June 9, and Eid al-Adha, which falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah. The Day of Arafat is anticipated on June 5.

Zilhajj has officially started, after the moon sighting and Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar, will be celebrated on June 6 in Indonesia. The crescent of Zilhajj was first sighted in Indonesia, where local authorities confirmed sighting. Following the confirmation, the Indonesian government officially announced that Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday.

Meanwhile, no moon sightings have been reported so far in Malaysia, and religious authorities are expected to make an official announcement shortly based on further observation and regional coordination.

Eid al-Adha is key Islamic festival involving prayers, charity, and animal sacrifice. Accurate moon sighting is vital for the correct observance of these events.
