Intermittent rain and gusty winds, along with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms, are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a low-pressure area lies over Southeast Rajasthan & adjoining north Gujarat. It is likely to move further west-southwestward during the next 24 to 36 hours. A westerly wave is also affecting the upper and central parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, intermittent rain and gusty winds along with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Lahore, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Layyah, Taunsa, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Lahore. Widespread rains may generate flash floods in local streams/ nullahs of Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Landslides may occur in Murree and Galiyat. Gusty winds, hailstorms & lightning may damage weak structures like solar panels, electric poles and billboards.
Lahore’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the province. However, rains occurred in upper Punjab and Islamabad.
